Solo crash at 2494-2564 10th Ave E
reported by Casey
Date: 2010-03-26
Crash type: Solo crash
Geometry: Hit a pothole
Description: I was riding north on 10th Ave E. It was around 9:30 pm. It was pretty well lit. There is a large section on 10th Ave E just before it crosses over 520 that has a cluster of deep potholes, cracks and ruptured pavement. As my back tire hit one of the potholes, my bike flipped upwards and I could hear my back tire hissing as my head and left side of my body slammed into the ground. It is a bit fuzzy after that. I was lucky that a number of cars had stopped and blocked the road so I didn't get run over. At least seven people stopped, collected my stuff, assisted and someone drove my bike to my apartment.
