Solo crash at 4502 14th Ave NW
reported by LeftTurnOnly
Date:
2010-02-17
Crash type:
Solo crash
Geometry:
Bike lost stability and crashed
Description:
It was raining lightly on a Wednesday afternoon. I was traveling Westbound on the road that goes under Ballard bridge. There is an old railroad track. Local bikers have a name for this section because so many people wipe out on it. I was one of them.
My front tire slid into the groove of the track and I went down sprawling. A man from a business on the corner came out to check and see if I was OK. He said he'd seen dozens of people go down in that exact spot. Perhaps it's time the DOT fill in this bike trap. Add note to this report
