Crash type:
Collision with motor vehicle
Geometry:
Bike crossed into vehicle path
Vehicle type:
Bus or large truck
Description:
My fault. Tried to take bike lane entering onto Eastlake north of University bridge, did not wait for double articulated bus to enter Roosevelt/Eastlake. I merged with bus and did not have enough room between curb and tail end of bus which pinched me between bus and curb. Scraped curb and bars scraped on bus, lost control and went down as bus passed and did not stop. Fairly slow crash, left shoulder roll but pinched left arm on road under bar or brake lever, causing hematoma and severe bruising which "flowered" over the next several days. Two great guys in SUV's stopped, made sure I was OK, which I was except for bruised arm and brain fade. What was I thinking? I'm fine and wiser. Add note to this report
