Hazard reports for Seattle, WA

Description:
This section of Woodland Place N is in really bad shape and hazardous for cyclists. I've submitted a complaint directly to SDOT but received no response. At the very minimum they need to get a street sweeper out there and clear out the large amount of gravel that is built up along the curb, extending at least 12" in some places into the bike lane. There are also weeds growing up from the pavement below the curb, in the edge of the bike lane. In addition there are numerous potholes, the bicycle lane markings have faded or disappeared. All this in and around an intersection with two arterials (Linden and 65th) merging to lead up to an entry to Hwy 99. It's a signed (and formerly marked) bike route that connects from Linden through the underpass to Greenlake. It really needs attention, right now it is downright dangerous for bicyclists. Full report

Description:
There is a moss or fungus or something growing on the trail here and it makes this corner EXTREMELY slippery when raining. I've crashed twice here and I see one more crash reported. The combo of the turn radius/ moss makes it difficult to stay upright when it is raining, even if you know about it. Not sure what you can do, maybe some kind of moss remover? (note: high risk when it is raining, ok now). Full report

Description:
Cyclists headed southbound on greenlake are directed into a bike box at N 50th street. The bike box is adjacent to two lanes of traffic that cross 50th to Stone Way. Unfortunately, there is no bike lane on stone way on the other side of 50th for 1/2 block (there are sharrows). There is, however, a curb island that results in cyclists being squeezed into traffic, although there may not be room because cars are directed to occupy the same space.
The bike box needs to direct cyclists to occupy the space in front of the cars in the most right-hand lane crossing 50th so that cyclists will not be squeezed. Alternatively the curb island could be reduced in size so that the bike lane promised by the bike box can exist. Full report

Description:
At apx. 8:20 am, a US Postal Service truck, #4870299 (no license plates), was coming off of the Magnolia bridge (West Garfield) and merging onto southbound 15th Ave West (in front of Staples). Traffic merging onto 15th from the bridge has a yield sign and vehicles/bicycles in the BAT lanes have the right of way. The driver clearly saw me - we actually made eye contact - and proceeded to ignore the yield sign completely and merge into my lane, cutting me off. Had I not squeezed my brakes, I would have been hit. I have no question that this was completely intentional since the driver clearly saw me. A report was filed with the Seattle Police (incident #201238612) and a complaint will be filed with the US Postal Service. Full report

Description:
Large amounts of gravel on the southwest corner of this intersection. Highly dangerous for a bicyclist traveling downhill eastbound on Orcas to turn right (south) on 33rd. Bicyclists are forced to enter 33rd in the oncoming lane of traffic to avoid skidding on the gravel. My suspicion is that there are potholes under this mess as well. This has not been cleaned up for a couple of years, and it has just gotten worse after this last snow. Highly dangerous for bicyclists coming down the hill at 20 mph or so. Full report
