South-bound bike lane on the left side of the road has several problems
1) stretches of this bike lane are in the door zone. 2) bike lane narrows in front of the bus depot right near the taxi stand. this creates a hazard where cyclists have to turn towards taxis that have passengers opening doors and taxis that are leaving the stand. 3) bike lane is exposed to the left hook at the intersection with 10th Removing the bike lane and creating a shared street would greatly improve safety on this stretch. Description:
Eastbound on W 10th Ave. There is a large tree root across 2/3 of the lane. It pushes the pavement up at least 18 inches. The bump is very sharp and if a cyclist were to hit it at more than a walking speed they would likely fall. The city has "repaired" this spot recently, but the risk is still there. They didn't reapply the yellow paint to make the bump more obvious after the "repair" so it's hard to see if you don't know it's there. Full report

Description:
Westbound lane on 15th Ave. There is a raised asphalt seam that stands at least 2 inches high. Any lateral move to let traffic pass or to take the lane can result in a fall. This problem is very dangerous at night since bike lights don't create a shadow that easily shows the hazard.
There is also a 4 inch drop at the end of this hazard because the slab has risen perpendicular to the direction of travel. The City has smoothed this drop with an asphalt patch, but it's still problematic. Full report

Description:
Eastbound 28th, there is a pothole in the middle of the bike lane. Due to the bend at this intersection, cyclists will be watching traffic and not the road. Cars tend to drift closer to the bike lane on this corner due to the bend, making any course correction extremely dangerous if you hit this pothole. The city has been notified of this pothole and has taken no action. Full report
