The paved shoulder suddenly narrows, and the unpaved shoulder is about 5 inches below the paved surface. A bike tire dropping into this would probably lead to a fall into the roadway and into the path of cars and truck.
Also a hazard for pedestrians. Trucks are often speeding at this location, to gain momentum to make it up the hill, adding to the hazard. Full report |
