Description:
There is always debris in this section of steep road. 90% of the time, there is broken glass on the bike side of the road which forces cyclists into the middle of the road. Slight rockslides and vegetation push cyclists into traffic along with the stench of dog crap at the top of the hill. The resident enjoys the convenience of slinging crap over the fence into the vegetation along the road. Full report
Location:
701-725 N Sierra Madre Villa Ave, Pasadena, CA 91107, USA
Priority:
High risk
Status:

Description:
Going northbound on Sierra Madre Villa you will encounter this 'Yield' intersection 50 yards north of Rosemead. Drivers going from Rosemead to nortbound Sierra Madre Villa ignore the Yield sign for both cyclists and motorists. I have had several near misses from being sideswiped and rear-ended. Often times the non-yielding traffic exceeds speed limit which makes it even more dangerous. Complaints to the city were ignored. Full report
Location:
1400-1444 E Del Mar Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91106, USA
Priority:
Normal
Status:
Pending
Description:
When proceeding eastbound on Del Mar the right hand lane becomes very narrow just to the east of Hill Ave. This, in combination with the frequently overgrown Italian cypress trees in the parkway, means that cyclists are required to take the full lane in order to avoid being passed dangerously closely by motor vehicles. This is on a signed and designated bike route. Shared lane markers and/or a "bike box" at the front of the rightmost lane on Del Mar just to the west of Hill would improve the situation. Full report

Description:
Climbing on Holly St. after crossing the Arroyo is hazardous. It's a very steep hill, with a fair amount of plant debris, and sometimes overgrown bushes, which in combination can be dangerous, with twigs rolling underneath the drive (rear) wheel. Traffic is often fairly fast as well. Signage and a well defined climbing lane for bikes would make the road safer. Holly St. is one of the few roads which cross the Arroyo without descending into it, which makes it attractive for cyclists just trying to get across (the next one to the south is Colorado, which is large, and to the north is Woodbury, also large, and far away). Description:
Plentiful and well designed bike racks have been placed in an insecure location with no passing foot traffic or other watchful eyes, making the location very unattractive as a place to leave your bike for the day while you head out on the Gold Line. Full report

Description:
One Colorado has both insufficient and substandard bike parking facilities. Racks are of the "wheel bender" variety, making it difficult or impossible to secure a bicycle's wheels and frame, and offering no physical support for the bike, which often leads to damage of bike wheels (which are not designed to accept torsional stress). On weekend evenings the bike racks are also generally full. Furthermore the "security" staff prohibit patrons from locking their bikes to more secure and convenient railings, posts, and other pieces of infrastructure. This is a significant deterrent against my patronizing the mall. Given the city's requirement (and subsidy) of plentiful car parking, this omission is especially annoying. City bike racks on the sidewalks are less secure because there is little foot traffic on the sidewalks, in addition to being insufficient. Full report

Right hand lane is right-turn only, left lane can turn or proceed straight. To avoid being cut-off, cyclists must take entire left lane on fast 4-lane road, which surprises drivers, and often results in illegal passing on the right, tailgating, etc. Full report
