I hit a bump on the shoulder going down the hill which caused my saddle bag to come loose and get caught in the rear wheel. I lost control and went over the handle bar at 30 to 35 mph. Full report

Description:
While heading South on Juanita drive (riding along side golf course on road shoulder) a sudden slam and push felt on my left rear waist/arm knocking me into the ditch. Felt like an intentional hit. When I looked up from ground two men had surrounded me. One of the men claimed to be the driver and stated he had fallen asleep and apologized. The other man was a witness who had seen the truck swerve in front of him, then hit me. Medics came and drove me to Northwest Hospital in Ambulance. Ribs were sore for about 3 weeks. No internal bleeding or broken bones. Broken shoe buckle, cracked helmet, and lost tail light. Missed a couple days of work. Hasn't stopped me from riding since though - I was very Lucky! Full report

Description:
The King County Sheriff's Office reported the collision took place when Sansom was northbound along Juanita Drive just north of the entrance to the Bastyr campus. Her bicycle collided with a truck driven by a 46-year-old Kirkland man as he was leaving a store parking lot. The driver, whose name was not released, was not injured.
