Location: 1110 W Lynn St, Austin, TX 78703, USA
Geometry: Vehicle turned into passing bike
Injury: Moderate
Description: Was travelling south on West Lynn. Car ahead was stopped with left blinker on to turn into coffee shop parking lot as I approached. As northbound traffic cleared, he started to turn left and I moved to pass on the right. At that point he swung hard right into a different parking lot. Couldn't stop at that point, but was able to begin braking and swerve right. Hit the car hard just behind the back door with my left side and bounced onto the sidewalk.

Driver stopped and assisted with recovery and first aid (pharmacy across the street) for a bad cut on my finger from the left brake lever. Witnesses and driver confirmed he changed direction and had left signal on. Full report
Location: 11631-11635 Parkfield Dr, Austin, TX 78758, USA
Geometry: Vehicle turned after stop
Injury: Moderate
Description: I was riding down the road in a bike lane. The car approached from a side street on my left and came to a stop at the stop sign. The car signaled and turned left onto the road I was on and I hit the car. I could see the driver clearly as they pulled out onto the road. Even though they were turning to the left, they only looked to the right and therefore never saw me as I was approaching from their left side. I was able to anticipate the car pulling out and immediately turned to the left, so I made more of a glancing blow off the back half of the side of the car instead of a full t-bone style hit. The driver of the vehicle was a middle-aged woman and she was more shaken up than I was. There was a vehicle legally parked between the bike lane and the curb. This may have made it harder to see me. It was dawn or a little later, and I had a headlight on my bike. I was not seriously injured so I continued my commute to work. I did not notify the police or receive medical treatment. My bike was fine except for some scrapes to the handlebar and torn handlebar tape. Full report

Description: I was riding at about 15mph in the bike lane past cars going about 5 mph on Guadeloupe. a pizza delivery driver turned right into a loading dock for the university just as I was even with his rear wheels. I hit the passenger side door as he continued his turn. My shoulder hit the car, my knee hit the street, and my hand was very tempted to hit the driver after he tried to tell me it was my fault.
