Description:
Two moving lanes alongside parked cars. The lanes are narrow. Heavy pedestrian traffic at the intersectiosn.
I was traveling at about 10 mph outside the door zone in the right movng lane, in a straight line. The wide passenger van was driven by a young man (seemingly inexperienced driver) who tried to squeeze by a few inches from me at about 20 mph on my left. The outside mirror hit either my elbow or the handlebar, turning the front wheel and knocking me to the ground. The driver claimed he was being tailgated by a vehicle behind and couldn't slow down.
