Description:
A car hit and severely injured a 6-year-old ridge girl Tuesday after she lost control of her bicycle coming down a hill into Skyway traffic in Magalia. She reportedly sustained a major head injury and a broken leg.
The California Highway Patrol reported Joseph Allooh, 53, of Humble, Texas, was traveling in a 2008 Kia southbound at about 35 mph on the Skyway when the young girl turned onto Skyway from Erlich, which slopes toward the Skyway. CHP officers said Allooh had no time to stop before the accident. One unnamed witness said the young girl was not wearing shoes or a helmet. Officers said they believe the girl lost control as she came down Erlich and was unable to stop. Upper Ridge Station 33 paramedics and Upper Ridge station volunteers responded. The girl was taken by ambulance to Magalia Community Church where she was flown to Enloe Hospital. Full report |
