Description:
An elderly woman in a Silver Jaguar made a left turn from oncoming traffic directly
into my path, and I could not avoid the collision. I was taken to Huntington hospital by LA Co paramedics, and spent the morning in the trauma ward. Over 5 days of hospitalization I had multiple surgeries. My injuries included a broken jaw, concussion, jaw laceration, sprained wrists, and associated bone bruises, a non-displaced broken vertebrae, a deep and serious wound to my right quad, a large laceration to my right knee, too many subcutaneous haematomas (bruises) to mention, and a double ankle sprain too top it all off. The last of my surgeries was last Wednesday, and have been discharge by one of two plastic surgeons. I am attempting my first full work week (5 days), where intermittent duty was the rule for the past three weeks. I believe that the leg wound may have been a side effect of the jagged end of a broken carbon fiber handlebar. Full report |
